What's Different About Ancient Greek Art?

Answer Question

Ancint Greek Art is the next chapter in my art history class.. But I peeked ahead. One thing I noticed about greek art is the sculptures. They are mostly males, and always nude... And with extremely accurate anatony. The early sculptures of women were never nude, and only in later years did they sculpt women nude, or with draped clothing that resembles wet linen and still shows the anatomy underneath. Ancient Greeks believed in perfection of mind, body, and soul. Their art reflected this as all sculture that has even been found are of people with perfect physiques. Their architecture is still reflected especially in the south with the large columns that adorn large buildings and estates. Since the greeks believed in perfection, its no surprise to know that the first olympics were played in the nude.
