Apparently. I read this in "The Guiness book of world records". It is also the most common dog ;)

I have a lab right now and yes she is a very friendly breed. I have had numerous different breeds of dogs in my lifetime and found my Saint Bernard to be just as friendly as my lab. He was also the biggest baby alive. Too cute

They probably are at the top of the list along with Golden Retrievers.  That is why the labs are so great at being used for individuals with a variety of disabilities because of their patience, their compassion , their loyalaty and their love of people.  They are extremely intelligent.  It does take a lot of patience to train labs since they do have a stubborn streak to them and they also are high-energy dogs who are quite mischievous.

They are at the top of my list from experience, but I have known several other breeds to be quite friendly since my mom bread show dogs for a while.
