    How To Wire A Light Switch From A Hot Receptacle?

    The receptacle is hot and there is a wire connected to a light switch, then light switch is connected to a light. The light switch is turning the receptacle on/off.

    GET YOURSELF A PIECE OF 14/2 NMB (COMMON HOUSE WIRE) WIRE FROM THE RECEPT TO YOUR NEW SWITCH, THEN RUN WIRE TO WHATEVER THE SWITCH OPERATES.
