What Was The First Legislation From President Clinton’s Presidency?
There were a number of legislations that were passed during the Presidency of President Bill Clinton. The first legislation is one that was in keeping with promises that had been made by Clinton earlier. This was the "Family and Medical Leave Act of 1993".
It basically was a labour related law and allowed those who were not well themselves or those taking care of sick family members could take unpaid leave. The draft of the Act was written by the "National Partnership for Women and Families" which amongst other things promoted fairness at work. The legislature was not completely free of its fair share of critics. People believed that the legislature might result in a kind of discrimination in the sphere of recruitment as women would be expected to take leave using the provisions of this Act.
