Does Anyone Know Anything About A Place Called Mudlavia Lodge In Kramer, Indiana?

Answer Question

It was a mud-bath spa / hotel popular with Chicago gangsters in the 1920s.  It was actually a bit outside (west) of Kramer, towards Attica, also between Highway 41 and Highway 55).  Almost 3 hours drive south from Chicago.  See map.

It was built on the site of a natural spring in 1890.

Mudlavia Lodge (originally called the Indiana Springs Company, also called just Mudlavia, Hotel Mudlavia, etc.) is in ruins today, since a devastating fire in the 1920s.  The site is widely rumoured to be haunted, and a popular destination for would-be ghost hunters.  Supposedly there is a nearby pond where some mob victims were dumped -- hence the hauntings.

But if you were a ghost wouldn't you haunt the people that did it, not the place where they left your remains?

Anyway, directions and detail of how to find the ruins are on this site.  The location is now quite popular among paintball players, and some religious cults.
