What Is The Largest Borough Of New York City?
Queens is the largest borough of New York City, at over 100 square miles. Almost 2 million people live there. The diversity of Queens is astonishing; Greek, Indian, Pakistani, Jamaican, and Chinese are just a portion of the ethnicities represented. It is thought that the neighbourhood of Astoria has the largest concentration of Greek people outside of Greece.
One of Queens' most well-known landmarks is Shea Stadium, home to the New York Mets baseball team. For those interested in galleries and museums, Queens has the Socrates Sculpture Park, Noguchi Museum, the American Museum of the Moving Image, the P.S. I Art Museum, and the Hall of Science. For outdoorsy pursuits, there is the Aqueduct Racetrack, Rockaway Beach and the Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge, as well as parks and trails. Most of these attractions are accessible by subway.
Queens is an overlooked borough, perhaps overshadowed by Manhattan. However, it has a wealth of culture and history. Plus, there is a so much more space in which to enjoy it. Queens has less crowds, queues, and traffic than tourist hotspots like midtown Manhattan.
