Where Simple Minds Scottish?

Simple Minds is a Scottish band. They are best known, particularly in the US, for their song 'Don't You forget About Me', which was a big hit in 1985. The Scottish band traces its origins to a post-punk art rock band, that was influenced by Roxy Music, and evolved into an epic-sounding pop band.

The band, hails from Glasgow's Southside. They produced a number of critically acclaimed albums during the early 1980s. Their music was heavily influenced by the dominant musical trends in UK pop at the time, and electronic music being the most dominant force, its influence was most visible in their music.

Simple Minds were at the pinnacle of their commercial success following their appearance on the Live Aid concert in 1985, and the release of Once Upon a Time, their most successful album. They went on to release some politically inspired and critically acclaimed but sales kept declining.
