I think it depends on what kind of work you do.. On some cases you can be fired for having a disease and some cases you cant.

I work for a nursing home...I everything to protective myself and my patients....and they still fired me...I'm trying to find out what are my rights.
I am sorry but that is discrimination. I would call one of those attorneys and see what the laws are. There are some certain attorney's that will take your case and you don't have to pay anything unless you win the case. Then they get part of the settlement a certain percent. That is what I would look into. That is discrimination. Even if you have HIV and were a doctor or in health care, and they fired you that is discrimination. There are safety precautions to follow in any type of work and if you follow them then it would be safe. I suggest look into it. Good luck and take care.

No, that is not legal, I would seek council with a lawyer, It seems your employer needs to be educated on HIV as well as discrimination!
