Mascarpone cheese is an Italian cream cheese.  It's available at Italian markets or specialty grocery stores.  There are also various recipes on-line that give variations on how to "make" mascarpone.  Below is one that I found:

      Homemade Mascarpone Cheese

1 (8 oz) pkg cream cheese (reg not low fat)
      1/4 cup heavy whipping cream
2 1/2 TBSP sour cream (not low fat or fat free)

Beat with mixer until smooth and creamy.
