It is using a ton of gas. (1/2 a tank in a 12 miles).. Smells like gas big time... Sputters until 3 or 4th gear... Any suggestions as to what could be causing this problem?
This sounds like a major fuel leak, check over and under engine to try to determine the source. You should be able to locate this by wet fuel dripping or running down. Possibly a split or cracked fuel line somewhere. This could be a very dangerous situation and should be addressed immediately.
