Endocrine glands are a collection of cells or an organ which secretes its product on the surface without the means of a duct. The group of endocrine glands constitutes the endocrine system. In contrast, exocrine glands release their product such as the salivary gland or the sweat gland by means of a duct.

The following are glands which are included in the endocrine glands: Adrenal gland, Pituitary gland, Pancreas gland, Thyroid gland, Parathyroid gland, Pineal gland, Hypothalamus, Testes, Ovaries and Kidney. The secretions of these glands are important for the development of our body. If any of the glands fails to secrete its product then the individual can suffer from abnormality. Sebaceous gland and sweat glands are examples of exocrine glands.

Do a search on any of the search engines on the Internet and you will surely find functions, structure and almost everything about each and every gland.
