Drawing bubble letters can be easy and fun. What I usually do is to first write a letter with a pencil the size which is a little smaller than the bubble letter I want to make. Then, all I do is draw an outline to the letter all the way around. If you want bubbles, round off the edges. In case you want rigid letters, make them block shaped. In any case, the width of the outline should be equal all around the letter.
Once you have made one outline, draw another one and keep on going until your letter looks as 'plump' as you want it. Cut out the outer most outline and you have your letter!
Now, you can either use this letter as a stencil. For that you can place it on any plain paper and trace it out. Then, color and decorate the newly drawn shape as you want it. This can be helpful if you have many letters repeating in a word.
If you want to use the first letter that you cut out, you should first neatly erase the pencil marks that you have made on it or you can leave them on, trace these lines with a thick felt marker and color in each segment differently. In case you are not using the word as a stencil, make sure that the pencil lines are light. This way, it will be easier to erase them and they would be less visible when you put them up. Result: More professional, neat letters! ;)

You draw around the letter that you want. Then you keep drawing outlines till it gets the size that you want. Then you erase the other lines you don't need. You colour that in with an outline colour and then keep doing that to the other letters and then gradually you will improve.
