US President Jimmy Carter(1977-1984) was blamed for his policy regarding Asia.People says that his policy lead Communism spread itself to Afghanistan.As in 1979,The Soviet invaded Afghanistan to save the pro-Communist Government headed by Dr.Najeeb.With this civil-war started in Afghanistan.Thousands of refugees crossed the borders to Pakistan .This load burdened its economy..Relations between Pakistan and US under Jimmy Carter were very much strained because Pakistan had been deprived of a publicly-mandated Prime Minister,Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto who had announced to make Pakistan a nuclear power.The US had suspended all military aids .Pakistan economy also had a set back with the load of Afghan refugees ,who are still here since then.With them came the Narcotics and Opium into Pakistan as Afghanistan is known for its opium-production.Thousands of people suffered by that menace.
