I need this for bible study and I don't know the first person who found out the world was round. The year is even more difficult. I think the year was before Chris. HELP ME!!!!!

Well, it was believed since ancient times that the earth was round. It was universally accepted even in Hellenistic Greece. However, it is said that it was discovered some 3000 years ago by some Persian. The first person to prove it was Ferdinand Magellan who sailed around the world for the first time.
