This Question is Answered

I Have A 2001 Cadillac Seville, SLS. When My Mechanic Replaced The EGR Valve He Mentioned Another Part Of The EGR System That Should Also Be Replaced. What Is That Part? Is It The EVAP Purge Solenoid Or Another Part?

I need to know what this part is so that I may buy it and install it myself (if possible) because my car will not pass my state's emission testing standards the indicated reason being the EGR system has a problem. Whereas I have already replaced the EGR valve the problem has to be the other part that the mechanic mentioned , which he thought would only be available from a Cadillac dealer.

If you don't get the answer here, I would call your local auto parts store, like auto zone.  They can probably give you some good advice and info.  so you don't have to take it to a mechanic.  They can probably even give you a diagram if you need one, if there is not one in your owners manual.  Good luck.

I had the same car and a lot of parts are dealer only part. That if the dealer can get them. Sorry to say i would bring it to the dealer an bite the bullet. The car has many sensors that go to the main computer. Thus the dealer is the best at finding which one it is.
