What Is The Perfect Storm?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

The perfect storm is the popular nickname given to the Halloween Nor'easter that took place in North America in the year 1991. The nor'easter was a strange one, extra tropical in nature, which absorbed a hurricane before eventually evolving into a small hurricane later. By November, Canada had under gone the effects of a tropical storm, creating damages worth one billion US dollars and claiming 12 lives. The hurricane ranked second in terms of storms that turned out to be expensive, following Hurricane Bob.

The storm was caused due to a frontal wave that was originally created in Indiana, and it travelled towards the north eastern direction into Atlantic Canada. By the 28th of October, the hurricane had developed into an intensifying extra tropical cyclone.
