No because the ps1 can't play ps2 games and BTW guitar hero sux for the ps2 because the buttons,the guitar ,and the graphics suck big time

The answer is no, you can't play guitar hero on ps1 and that also goes for every other ps2 game i mean you can play a ps1 game on a ps2 but that's about it.

Well at least you aren't getting any sarcastic, condescending answers to your question.While the personal commentaries may be a bit much, you do have your answer.Where the ps2 WILL play ps1 games (often at a better graphic level, due to code improvements in the ps2), the reverse is not the case.The reason for this is that while the ps1 used cds for their data disks, the ps2 uses DVD disks for games (and the fact that it will play DVDs was one if the major selling points for the ps2, just like the ps3 is one of the cheapest blu-ray players you can buy), and the ps1 is just not capable of reading DVD disks.I understand that the cost of purchasing a ps2 can be a bit much, you should be able to find one that works just fine at a pawn shop or other used game center (or eBay, if nothing else) for far less than the cost of a new unit, and it is well worth the investment, as the games available for the ps2 are worlds ahead of the ps1.
