    Iowa basically is the Midwest state of the USA. It is said to be the 29th state of USA. It is officially known as the "State of Iowa". The term Iowa means "This is the place" or "The Beautiful Land".

    Iowa shares its land borders with Minnesota in the north, Nebraska and South Dakota in the west, Missouri in the south and Illinois in the east. The Mississippi river makes up the eastern border on the state. The total population of Iowa is said to be around 2,966,334. According to 2004 census report, Iowa's population had around 97,000 people of foreign origin.

    The Iowans are mainly of Northern European origin. A number of Iowans are Protestant Christians, with Lutheranism being the biggest distinct Protestant denomination, followed by Methodist.
