This is a hard situation to answer. If i were you, I would suggest to my wife to sell the house for profit then buy another house and this time your name should be on it. Suggest a refinancing and borrow an equity against that house to use as a down payment for another house, that's if you have a good credit as your wife has. If your credit is going to hurt her, then leave it the way it is for now or else both of you are going nowhere. You don't see any divorce challenges in the future do you?

WHOSE NAME IS ON THE DEED TO THE PROPERTY? IT SOUNDS AS IF you are ENTERTAINING THE THOUGHT OF DIVORCE. IF you CAN PROVE THAT you PAID 1/2 THE MORTGAGE, SHE SHOULD OWE you SOME MONEY IF SHE IS GRANTED THE HOME and THE DIVORCE.
