Both numbers have mystical and promising backgrounds. The number three is universally considered the luckiest number. Pythagaros, the mathematician considered it to be 'the perfect number' a symbol of completion and fertility. Three appears in hundreds of natural groupings such as 'The Holy Trinity', 'The Family – father, mother & child', 'Dimensions – Depth, Height & Width', 'Three Wise Men', 'Time - Past, Present, Future', 'The Three R's', 'Three Blind Mice', 'Menage a trois', 'Three Cheers', 'Three Chances'. Good & Bad Fortune is considered to run in three's, proverbs have become well known, such as 'third time lucky' or 'three on a match' and 'three strikes & you're out'. The luck surrounding the number seven appears to have originated in biblical times. God rested on the seventh day after making the world and the bible makes reference to 'seven petitions of the Lord's prayer' and 'the seven branched menorah'. There are seven seas, seven notes in a scale, seven pillars of wisdom, Seven Wonders of the World and don't forget the seven year itch in marriage & relationships.
