China has the second largest economy after U.S.A. It produces and consumes more coal and pesticides and many other commodities. It has long been considered the next big market to explore, by both global and middlesized companies in the west. However the realities of setting up a business in China as a foreign company, have proved to be much more complicated than imagined. Making inroads into the enormous Chinese market has also not been easy.

Chinese goods are now exported all over the world at a fraction of the cost of western made goods. Everyone has something in their homes made in China. Wealthy Chinese tourists have been travelling to the tourist hot spots, for some years now, and are the major consumers of luxury goods, such as watches, leather goods, and designer fashion.

It is estimated that, as the speakers of the world's most spoken language, ahead of English, the nation
of China will, within a short time, become the world's largest economy.
