What Was The Novel “The Leopard Hunts In Darkness” By Wilbur Smith All About?

The book "The Leopard Hunts in Darkness" was written by Wilbur Smith and published in the year 1984. The plot is based on factual events such as the emergence of the nation of Zimbabwe from the earlier state of Rhodesia, but the remainder of the story remains fictional and in character with most of Wilbur Smith's works that are full of Drama and resemble soap operas.

The plot centers on the character of Craid Mellow and his exploits and adventures on his return to Africa, namely Zimbabwe after having lived in New York. After him arriving in Africa there are plots and sub plots involving the CIA, Ivory Poachers, and corrupt politicians and back stabbing associates. It is only at the end that the reader realizes who the actual ring leader of the poachers was and the poetic justice of Wilbur Smith's climaxes.
