I Was Non-vegi, But I Just Turned To Be A Vegetarian. Could You Tell Me What Kind Of Diet I Should Have Now?
If you have become a vegan (eating no animal products at all) it's more complicated, but for the more usual vegetarianism (someimes called lacto-vegetarianism) where you still have dairy products and eggs, you don't have to make too many major changes.
The main thing lacking in a veggie diet is animal (High biological value) protein. You can get this from milk and eggs, but eating huge amounts of these isn't the best thing for health, so you should also get protein from certain plant sources like soya and tofu (there are a range of products based on these.) Nuts and pulses (peas, beans, lentils) are also good protein sources.
There are also key minerals such as iron (found in green vegeatables like spinach) and vitamins like B12 (for which you may need supplements.) A veggie diet will supply pretty much everything you need for health, but you do need a little extra knowledge. The vegetarian society website has an introduction to nutrition as well as helpful links. Once you've mastered the basics, I'd get a nice-looking vegetarian cookbook - one with recipes that you really fancy - and start experimenting. Good luck.
