How To Do Cake Batter?

Here's a basic cake recipe for a yellow cake - actually it is for cupcakes - but you can bake in 8 or 9 inch round cake tins that have been greased and floured or even a 13 X 9 inch pan which may be easier for you.

* 2-1/2 cups all-purpose flour
* 2-1/2 teaspoons baking powder
* 1/2 teaspoon salt
* 2/3 cup butter or margarine
* 1-3/4 cups sugar
* 1-1/2 teaspoons vanilla
* 2 eggs
* 1-1/4 cups milk

Directions

1. Grease and lightly flour thirty 2-1/2-inch muffin cups or line with paper bake cups. Prepare Yellow Cake recipe. Fill each cup half full. Bake in a 375 degree F oven for 18 to 20 minutes or until a wooden toothpick inserted in center of a cupcake comes out clean. Cool on a wire rack. Makes about 30 cupcakes.


Baked in tins takes longer - for round cake tins it can take 20 - 28 minutes and for 13 X 9 inch pan it can take 28 - 38 minutes - all depending on your oven temperature.
