In order to calculate v lookup on an excel sheet, you will have to click on the option above that says insert. Then next if you look down you will need to click on function. Once you click on function you will get a box like structure. Click on the option 'all' and in the below section you will get various options out of which you will v lookup.
The next you will reach box wherein the first option would be Lookup_value; here you will need to fill in the common thing in all the files that is present. Similarly you can follow the rest of the steps and it will lead you to the answer that you are looking out for.
