How Do You Fix A Washing Machine?

Answer Question

2 Answers - Sort by: Date | Rating

Fixing a washing machine is a complicated procedure greatly varying depending on whether or not you have an American, Asian or European machine and also the brand of the machine. In addition your machine may be a top load or a middle load. All of these will have different guidelines for repair. It is best that you call your machine's company for maintenance mechanics. If your machine is still under the warranty period then the repairs will be done for free- if not then you will have to pay the repair charges.

If you're still determined to fix the machine yourself then try following these simple guidelines. Read your washing machine's manual carefully. Gently remove any screws in machine and remove the outer cover. Now carefully check whether any of the parts are worn out and replace them. Oil the metal parts. If your problem is still not fixed then you will need to call a professional.

Amana top load washer Model LWA90AW:
The washer and rinse cycles sometimes do not fill with the temperature of water that is called for on the digital controls. If I set it to rinse on cold, it will sometimes fill with warm or hot instead, etc. Is this a difficult repair? Is it a circuit board problem? Can I do it myself. I'm handy with home repairs.
