In response to your query, most likely, the gas station does what is known as a "pre authorization". That is where they can ding your card for up to $50 to make sure you have enough money in order to pay for your purchase. If you do not have enough on your card, it will decline the card.
The way to get around this if you know you have enough on your card is to go into the gas station and have the attendant run your card or have a set amount of gas you want to buy ( such as $20 on pump #1 etc )
In the future, do not put your cc number and name!!! Where strangers can see it. I might report this question for your own safety!!!
