Hachey is one of the most ancient Anglo-Saxon names from Britain, which is also relevant in variational form to the surnames Hack, Hache, Hacche and Hach.
The name comes from the settlers who came to Britain during the 10th and 11th centuries, who favoured the name (which has Scandinavian connections from the first name Haki or Hako).
