Can You Cook Chicken Frozen?

Answer Question

2 Answers - Sort by: Date | Rating

I do most of my cooking in water. It creates great broths for soup if you want.

It is also a good way to cut down on fat by boiling the meat and then removing it from the broth for eating.

I always cook frozen chicken this way, regardless of how it will be served. Cook it around simmer if you can't keep a close eye on it, medium if you can make sure the water won't cook down to nothing.

The only way I would recommend cooking a frozen chicken would be to bake it. You wouldn' t want to submerge a frozen chicken whole or in part in hot oil. That would be a recipe for disaster.
