What Are The Differences Between A Bed And Breakfast And A Hotel?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

Generally hotels are a lot more formal than a bed and breakfast and they are also more expensive. Bed and breakfasts are usually family run and there is a friendly, caring atmosphere in them. With a hotel the staff are more laid back, they are not very personal and whilst they do offer a lot of care, it is more because they have to rather than because they want to.

A bed and breakfast also tends to have a slower pace than a hotel so breakfast is more leisurely and all the food in a bed and breakfast is prepared by the owners themselves. This means that the food is usually gourmet. A hotel on the other hand offers a wider choice of food and for breakfast for example, you may have a choice of cereals, bakery goods and fresh fruit all in a buffet style. It is down to personal preference whichever one you choose to stay in.
