Does A Black Lab Have Black On Its Tongue?
My 6 month old lab has black on his tongue--I thought this was strictly a chow characteristic.

It's my understanding that the Chow and Shar-Pei are the only breeds with black tongues. Chances are one of these breeds was introduced somewhere alone the line, but of course there's debate about this. A pure bred black lab should not have black spots on it's tongue, but it is not listed as a breed fault under AKC standards.

I don't think so that its chow characteristic because tongue does not get any color in any species of dog. It is quite strange that a black lab has black on his tongue.
