Let me start by saying that I am not a doctor of any kind but I have done extensive research over the past 2 years due to my mother and father both being diagnosed with lung cancer. It is very difficult to say how long a cancer will take to spread as this would depend on what type of cancer it is and what stage the cancer is. Certain cancers are fast growing cancers and certain cancers do not respond well to treatment. First find out waht cell type (eg small cell adeno etc) the cancer is, what stage it is in and how it will respond to treatment.

A couple of days ago i found out my mum has cancer.
Waiting for the scan to show whether the cancer has spread has been the most painful thing i have had to do.
I find out tomorrow whether the cancer has spread.
I dont think we can really determine what the cancer will be like.
"as there are so many different types"
for others who have a family member affected by cancer.
Spend the time you can with them.
Im going to quit my job,stop everything and spend the time i can with my mum.
U can always get a job..... Spending time with family you can never get back.
