The name Theodore is a name for a male in the English language which is derived from the Greek name Theodoros, which referred to a 'gift of god' , which is a combination of the Greek words 'theo' meaning 'god' and 'doron' meaning 'gift'. It was a common name for many saints earlier and even two popes. One of the most famous namesakes though would be former American President Theodore Roosevelt.

He was the twenty-sixth President of the United States and served for a period of eight years, form the year 1901 to the year 1909.
