What Does Nib Mean?

Nib is a sharpened point of a quill pen. It is basically a tapered pen point, which is deliberately done in order to be inserted into a pen cover or holder or fountain pen. Nib also refers to a bird's beak or bill. It is the horny projecting part, which is the mouth of a bird.
