How Old Do You Get A Baby Off The Bottle?

My son is 12 months and he drinks out of a sippy cup for about 2and a half weeks. Grandma watch him one night and he was crying and she stuffed him with a bottle. Oh was he happy!!! I was furious! She says hes still a baby and it was okay. My question if he was doing fine without one why go back. He didnt need one while im around but if grandmas watches i fear that she wont respect the fact that he just doesnt need one anymore. Am i being unreasonable?

I have four children, 6, 5, 2, and 1. You should start them on cups at 6 months when they drink their juice. They should be off of the bottle by 12 months, pacifier too. The hardest part is finding a cup that they are comfortable with. Some like the straw, some like a hard tip and some like the soft ones.
