Had i been given time to make funds available none of the transactions would have over drawn. I was unaware that the check was going to be recashed

That is such a drag for you, dear, but I don't think you have any avenue for recovering fees from your landlord, as banking policies require that funds be available at the time the check is written, and remain available until the writer of that check stops payment on it through the bank.
