Yes Neil Armstrong was the first astronaut to have ever stepped on the Moon. He was a former astronaut, a test pilot, university professor and United States Naval Aviator. His second and last space flight was actually his trip to the moon which took place in 1969. He was the commander of the Apollo 11 Moon Landing mission and was accompanied by Buzz Aldrin, making them the first humans to have ever stepped on the Moon.
