Answer Question

If the short sale took care of the amount remaining on the mortgage, then you may find a lender willing to work with you.

Although the short sale will show on your credit report, it is not as bad as the damage a foreclosure would would cause to you possibilities.

Can a person own property in one state (A) and short sale on a property in another state (B) without losing the property in state (A)?  I bought a very inexpensive condo near my ailing mother in Ariz, with plans to sell my home in CT for a large profit.  The appraised value of home in CT is $10 more than I own.  My CT house has been on the market for 2 months (at less than I owe) and no offers.  I must retire from my job as of July 1and move to where my mom is in Ariz to help her (I'm a nurse).  I am now in the process of doing a short-sale, but I fear losing the house in AZ.  Can my lender take the AZ property or put a lien on it or make me sell it?
