What's The Best Way To Communicate An Idea?

Consider the idea.  Think it through for yourself.  Think it through in words, and then think it through in pictures.  Try to communicate the idea in very simple format.  Remember KISS, which can mean Keep It Simple Stupid, but I prefer Keep it Strictly Simple.  Even if the idea is complex, go through each step piece by piece, in tinier steps, to explain it simply.

No matter how complex the idea, if you need to communicate it, it's always good to express it in two different ways, some people think in words and some in pictures.  Don't muddy your clarity with examples or metaphors, they probably won't make things any better at all.

Write out your idea as if explaining it to a child.  You can leave out any patronising bits when you have to communicate it.

Try to make everything as simple as possible, that way your higher knowledge of something won't get in the way or impinge on the recipients understanding!
