    The country Tunisia is located on the north coast of Africa with its border touching the Mediterranean Sea is a famous tourist destination.

    The Atlas Mountains divides the country into two distinct climatic zones, the northern fertile plains and the hotter and drier southern regions. The great Sahara desert starts from southern Tunisia.

    The northern part of Tunisia has a Mediterranean climate having moderate rainfall, with rain in the winters and dry, hot summer. As one progresses towards the south the climate becomes hotter and drier.  

    Average temperature in the north in January is 9�C or 48�F and in July the average temperature is 26�C or 78�F. The average minimum temperature in Tunisia in January is 3.9�C or 39�F and the average maximum temperature is 14.5�C or 58�F.
