How Are Water Rates Calculated?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

There are two ways of calculating water rates. The first way is that the water company does not set any kind of a limit on the water usage and a fixed bill has to be paid every month. This enables the user to use an unlimited quantity of water. The other way is that there is a water meter which is installed in your homes or the water company which measures the exact amount of water that you have used in a particular month. You have to pay the charges according to the usage of water.

In some countries, the government provides free water to the citizens of their country. They do not have to pay any kind of water charges to the government. It is very important to save water in times like these when the water supply in the world is dropping and there is a dearth of sufficient and clean drinking water.
