Healthy food is unprocessed foods including fresh vegetables, fresh fruits, whole grains, dry beans, peas and limited amount of animal protein.
I strongly agree that healthy food is really healthy because it is often found that people who take healthy food can eat as much as they want without gaining weight.
Natural fruits, vegetable and whole grains have high fiber and carbohydrates so they are absorbed slowly in our body and we do not feel hungry. Natural foods are nutritious and good for us. They have cancer-fighting antioxidants found in fruits and vegetables, fiber, vitamins and minerals, and the sustained energy provided by whole grains and complex carbohydrates which reduce the risk of diabetes, cancer and heart disease.
On the other hand, processed foods are low in nutritional value; refined tasteless ingredients are used in their process. To make these processed foods tasty and attractive extra salt, fat and sugar etc are used. Heavily processed foods are less nutritious and are not good for our health. These products have sodium, sugars, preservatives and saturated fats. Because of their lack of nutrient, fiber content, and all their additives heavily processed foods can be unhealthy for us and can cause diabetes, cancer and heart disease. So, eat healthy and natural foods to remain healthy and fit.
