Lave cross is referred to Lafayette Napoleon Cross who was a very famous American third baseman in Major League Baseball. Most of his 21 years career life was spent playing with Philadelphia-based teams in four diverse leagues. At the time of his retirement he ranked fifth in the main league where; hits (2644; various sources give totals up to 2666) and runs batted in (1371), ninth in doubles (411) and total bases (3466), and third in games played (2275) and at bats (9064). His fielding records are as follows; games (1721), putouts (2306), assists (3706), total chances (6406), and fielding average (.938).
