No ,a tick with its head in your skin is feeding on your blood and wont drop off until it is completely gorged with blood.if you have tried to pull The tick off and broken the head off, it will obviously die but you are then at risk from infection. Ticks are known to carry Lyme's disease which can lay dormant in the body for a number of years. When it because active it can be debilitating.
