I have actually done this with my neices barbies. Took a large box, put holes in bottom. Filled with bounce sheets on bottom. Laid barbies on top. Put in my unused bddrm. On top of 2 books. Air filtered thru bottom. Four barbies took about a week.

I would remove their clothes and wash the clothes in your washing machine inside a net, then I would put the barbies in a bleach water mix and let sit for a while, then rinse and lit completely let dry. Putting fabric softener sheets in the toy box is a good idea as well.
