Well i didn't know there was a proper way to pack, but I would try to do the best to utilize the space in your suitcase. Take what is necessary, you don't want to try to cram all your posessions into a small bag. If you're packing items like shampoo but them in a separate bag in your suitcase so that if they happen to leak your clothes won't be ruined. If you will be flying put something in your bag that tells someone where you will be staying in case your bag is misplaced, that way if your luggage is missing there's a chance it will resurface.
