How Can A Religon Say Killing Is A Sin When They Killed Many Over Witchcraft?

Answer Question

Religion has been and is currently responsible for death and destruction.  The reason for this is that religion is a man-made concept and man is utterly fallible.  From the acts of terror carried out by Sunni and Shiite Muslim groups to the Irish terrorism, the Salem witch trials of Massachusetts back to the Crusades and the Spanish inquisition.  Acts of violence have ALWAYS been perpetrated upon one human, one group, or one nation (or more think the illegal invasion and occupation of Iraq) against another.

Almost all religions find some way to say 'thou shalt not kill', Judaism has a warning not to shed blood of man for instance.

It's not 'religion's' fault, religion really has nothing to do with it, man is always envious of man and acts against out of that envy.  It isn't living a lie, it's just hard to follow God in a world of selfishness.
