When Was Burton Albion Football Club Founded?

    Burton Albion Football Club was founded in 1950.

    The club began playing in the Birmingham and District League in the 1950/51 season.
    However, due to the club being located in Burton-on-Trent in Staffordshire, which is positioned in the Central Midlands, within England, it has always been possible for Burton Albion to be joined to leagues in either the north or the south.

    In 1958, Burton Albion joined the Southern League, but has also found success in the Northern Premier League. In 2002, Burton Albion became Champions of the Northern Premier League and were promoted to the Conference National.

    Fans of Burton Albion call the club by the nickname of 'Brewers' due to Burton-on-Trent's historic links with the brewing industry.

    Burton Albion play their home games at the ground of the Pirelli Stadium. It has a current capacity for approximately 6,500 people.

    Burton Albion FC finished in 9th place in the Conference National for the 2005/06 season.
