Origin/definition Of Name Olivia. Not Just The French For Olive Tree.

    Olivia as a name seems to have originated when it was first used by Shakespeare for one of the characters in 12th Night.   Probably, he based it off the Latin oliva (olive) or the masculine name Oliver.
