Seismic activity, including Volcanic eruptions are what has shaped the earth. Thats what formed the mountains, and valleys, hills, glens, flatlands, etc. Its what created the land we live on, the continents, the deep cervasses of the oceans. Without these events, the earth would be as smooth as a marble and completely covered with water.... And We wouldnt be here.
